A Symposium on Cooperative Collection Development: Planning, Funding, Practice, and Public Policy

May, 15 1995
8:00 a.m. - 4:30p.m.

The sharing of collection development is changing. In many institutions, libraries have been given directives to develop cooperative resource sharing agreements with other institutions and their associated libraries.

These directives can be viewed as positive steps that will ensure stronger resources for all parties concerned. But we must have a clear understanding of what we are doing and how we will get there. We must be the architects of planning and develop a process that creates these shared agreements.

Schaar's words seem an appropriate description of where we are today in dealing with shared resource planning. Join us as nationally recognized speakers and a panel of faculty explore cooperative collection development. Learn the paths we must create to understand and control out future. Explore the ways in which we and our future are changing.
